AWS announced a redesigned onboarding experience targeting developers building at the pace of AI. New accounts can sign up using Google, GitHub, Apple, or Amazon credentials. AWS says most new customers will not need a credit card to start and will receive $100 in free credits. Projects launch with preconfigured defaults, automatic IAM permission handling, and a coding agent prompt for immediate deployment. Paid plans include per-project monthly spend limits starting at $20, with AWS pausing workloads rather than allowing overages. Advanced features including multi-region support and AWS Organizations governance can be activated later without migration. The rollout is gradual, per AWS.
