Claude Fable 5.1 is now available on AWS via Amazon Bedrock and Claude Platform on AWS. Anthropic positions the model for long-running tasks spanning coding, scientific research, and enterprise workflows. As a designated Covered Model, it carries mandatory data retention of up to 30 days and human safety review within the AWS boundary. AWS and Anthropic plan to offer Enterprise Frontier Safeguards, letting eligible customers run Covered Models in a controlled cloud environment.
Additional launches include Amazon Linux 2027 entering public preview on kernel 7.1+, and new EC2 R9g and R9gd instances powered by Graviton5, which AWS claims deliver up to 25% better compute performance over Graviton4-based predecessors. AWS Agent Registry also reached general availability, adding enterprise catalog features for agents and tools.
