NVIDIA, C-BRAIN Deploy AI Tools to Accelerate Alzheimer's Research

A consortium of 18 institutions is using NVIDIA infrastructure to surface previously siloed dementia research data.

The Consortium for Biomedical Research and AI in Neurodegeneration (C-BRAIN), launched November 2025, is working with NVIDIA to apply AI to Alzheimer's research bottlenecks including fragmented data and slow synthesis cycles. The consortium currently runs 64 NVIDIA on-premises data center GPUs alongside Microsoft Azure cloud nodes, with NVIDIA Blackwell capacity planned. C-BRAIN says two open-source tools, OpenScientist and InsightEngine, completed analyses in minutes that researchers estimated would take weeks, at under $10 per run, according to published case studies. NVIDIA's BioNeMo platform and MONAI framework are incorporated into research pipelines. A federated architecture allows AI models to train on institutional data without that data leaving member sites.
