NVIDIA released Isaac ROS 5.0 at ROSCon in Toronto on September 22, 2026, adding agentic development workflows to its GPU-accelerated ROS package collection. The release introduces support for ROS Lyrical and Ubuntu 24.04, along with reusable Isaac skills that developers and AI agents can use to automate robotics tasks. NVIDIA says FoundationPose now delivers object pose estimation up to 5.5x faster via an agent-ready inference library. A new FoundationStereo fine-tuning skill lets AI agents help adapt stereo perception models to specific cameras and environments. Isaac ROS 5.0 supports Jetson hardware from Orin Nano to Jetson Thor. The software is free and open source, available on GitHub.
