NVIDIA reports that its open source 5G/6G tools have surpassed 1 million downloads and that adoption of its AI Aerial and Sionna platforms grew 10x over the past year, now reaching more than 8,000 research and academic institutions. Published November 6, 2026, the announcement highlights four research projects built on these tools: a robot communication system at King's College London that NVIDIA claims cut task completion time by up to 52.6%; a SoftBank neural receiver showing up to 60% uplink throughput gains; a University of Leeds power management system reporting 45.6% RAN energy reduction; and a CTTC simulation tool cutting runtime from roughly three hours to 10-20 minutes. Both platforms are available on GitHub.
